Beaches of Capo Testa - Cala Spinosa - Santa Teresa Gallura - Sardinia

Cala Spinosa is a small, picturesque beach located on the Capo Testa promontory, in the municipality of Santa Teresa Gallura, along the northeastern coast of Sardinia. Tucked away within a deep cove, it is protected by high granite cliffs that plunge sheer into the sea. Over thousands of years, the wind and sea have smoothed these cliffs into unique shapes, offering visitors—whether seeing it for the first time or not— a breathtaking view. An unspoiled corner that boasts a captivating panorama of nearby Corsica and the white, majestic cliffs of the town of Bonifacio. The beach is characterized by sand that is not too fine, with a light and delicate golden color, interspersed with granite rocks that occasionally emerge from beneath the sand. It is reflected in clear, transparent waters of an extraordinary emerald and turquoise color (depending on the sun’s reflection), which are almost always calm. The seabed, rich in diverse marine flora and fauna, offers picturesque scenery thanks in part to the granite boulders that plunge below sea level. This feature makes it one of the favorite destinations for scuba divers and snorkelers. The difficult access keeps it relatively uncrowded, although over time, more and more people have come to appreciate this natural wonder

How to get there: From the town of Santa Teresa Gallura, follow the signs for Capo Testa and continue to the end of the road near the lighthouse. Leave your car and carefully make your way down a steep slope on the right Amenities: There are no amenities on the beach. Interesting facts: Despite a great deal of controversy, a lounge bar has opened on the cliff overlooking the beach. While it is certainly appreciated by many tourists, it has taken away some of the wild and secluded charm that has always characterized this beach.
